The Alchemyst: The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel by Michael Scott

THE ALCHEMYST is about an immortal alchemyst with 2 teenagers. The alchemyst, Nicholas Flamel, has a book covered in copper that can destroy the world. It is called the codex, or the book, or the book of Abraham the Madge. A man named Dr. John Dee wants the book to destroy the world. The teenagers are twins. One is a girl and one is a boy. Sophie and Josh Newman. They have SUPER RARE auras. Auaras are colors that surround people's bodies. Nicholas Flamel's aura is emerald and smells like mint. Sophie has a silver aura and smells like vanilla. Josh has a gold aura and smells like orange. Dr. Dee has a yellowish/brownish aura that smells like a mix of rotten eggs and peppermint. Silver and gold auras are super rare. One solid color is rare, too. But most people have mixed colored auras. Sophie, Josh, and Nicholas Flamel are with a girl with red hair and whose name is Scathach, but people call her Scatty.

Dr. Dee steals the book but Josh pulls out two pages out of it. Those were very important pages. They were of the final summoning. This is the thing that they need to destroy the world. Without them Dr. Dee can't destroy the world.

Sophie, Josh, Nicholas and Scatty went to a tree that is humungous -- as big as a house, called Yggdrasill, and stayed in there for a few days. Sophie and Josh need to have their powers awakened before they can use their powers, but there is a lady who lives near the tree and she can awaken their powers. Her name is Hekate. She awakens Sophie's powers, but not Josh's.

They go to visit the Witch of Endor so she can teach Sophie the magic of wind because if Sophie does not know how to do this magic she can not use all of her powers properly to help stop Dr. Dee from destroying the world.

This book is very interesting because it is not real. The story is exciting. I liked the whole book.

There are 369 pages in it, not including sneak peeks or about the author, or the author's notes. It is published by Random House.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

I read "The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart. I wish they would make it into a movie! It's about a bunch of kids who work together to fight against a evil man, Ledroptha Curtain, known as  Mr. Curtain. They "work" for Nicholas Benedict, known as Mr. Benedict. They don't get paid.

One of the kids is Constance. She is stubborn. Oh, she loves poetry (especially insulting ones)

Another is Kate, (my favorite!) she never is without her red bucket, full of tools and useful things. She is VERY AGILE AND FLEXIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sticky got his name because things stick in his head, (his real name is George Washington).

Reynie is just a regular, smart boy.

TOGETHER THEY ARE THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY!!!!!!!!!!

there is 485 pages in it.
it was published by Little,Brown and Company.

"Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke

I read "Inkheart" by Cornelia Funke. I really LOVED this book. It's about a girl who's father can read things out of books. The things that he reads come to life. A man named Capricorn wants the book "Inkheart", which he comes from. the girl, Meggie and her dad, Mo, are in danger. Dustfinger wants to go back to his home, in Inkworld. He wants the book too. He is a good guy. Capricorn is a bad guy. Capricorn dies in the end. My favorite characters are Elinor who is Meggie's great-aunt, Meggie, and Dustfinger. The most exciting part of the book is when The Shadow comes and Capricorn falls on the floor and dies. "Inkheart" is the first book in a series of 3.

At the end of the book are two sneak peeks to "Inkspell" which is the 2nd book, and"Inkdeath" which is the last book.

The book is 534 pages long, not including sneak peeks. It was published by Scholastic.

Welcome!

I'm out of hibernation and ready to share what I think about books with you!
